Lead AI ("we," "us," or "our") operates leadai.dev. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1.1 Information You Provide

  • Email address - when you subscribe to our newsletter via MailerLite.
  • Contact form submissions - name, email, and message content submitted through our Tally.so-powered contact form.
  • Tool submissions - information you provide when suggesting a tool for our directory.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage data - pages visited, features used, referral source, browser type, device type, and approximate location (country/region).
  • Cookies & local storage - used for theme preferences, stack selections, and analytics (see Section 4).
  • Log data - IP address, access times, and request metadata collected automatically by our hosting provider.

1.3 AI Chat Data

When you use the AI chat assistant, your messages are sent to a third-party AI provider (Anthropic) for processing. We do not store the content of your chat conversations on our servers. Anthropic's data handling is governed by their own privacy policy.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the Lead AI platform.
  • Send newsletters and product updates you opted into (via MailerLite).
  • Respond to contact form inquiries.
  • Analyze aggregate usage trends to improve content and tool recommendations.
  • Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, or security incidents.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

3. Data Sharing & Third-Party Services

We share data only with the following categories of service providers, each governed by their own privacy policies:

  • Hosting & deployment - Railway, Vercel (infrastructure).
  • Email marketing - MailerLite (newsletter delivery and subscriber management).
  • Contact forms - Tally.so (form submissions).
  • Content management - Sanity (CMS for tool data).
  • AI processing - Anthropic (chat assistant responses).
  • Analytics - privacy-focused analytics for aggregate usage metrics.

We do not share your personal data with advertisers.

4. Cookies & Local Storage

We use the following types of storage:

  • Essential cookies - required for core functionality such as session management.
  • Preference storage - localStorage for your theme choice (light/dark) and saved tool stack (the "leadai-stack" key).
  • Analytics cookies - to measure aggregate page views and feature usage. No personal profiles are built.
  • Third-party cookies - MailerLite and Tally.so may set cookies when their embeds are loaded.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect some Site features.

5. Data Retention

Newsletter subscriber data is retained in MailerLite until you unsubscribe. Contact form submissions are retained in Tally.so for up to 12 months. Aggregate analytics data is retained indefinitely but contains no personally identifiable information.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal data.
  • Withdraw consent for newsletter communications (unsubscribe link in every email).
  • Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing activities.

7. Children's Privacy

Lead AI is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16 years of age. If we become aware of such collection, we will delete the data promptly.

8. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, access controls, input sanitization, and rate limiting. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance.
